Following their 7-1 demolition of AS Roma in the Champions’ League FC Bayern have finally hit the right note this season, but a return to Bundesliga action doesn’t mean they should be taking their foot off the pedal. Borussia Mönchengladbach are also coming into this weekend’s game off the back of a big European victory, and with both teams unbeaten it promises to be a hard-fought encounter at the Borussia-Park.

The meeting between a rampant FC Bayern and Lucien Favre’s resurgent Fohlen – also unbeaten in the league this season – evokes memories of the great rivalry of the 1970s, and Bayern will be looking to extend their own unbeaten record – and with it stretch their advantage at the top of the table to seven points.

Last season’s meeting would see Bayern come away with the points, courtesy of a first-half strike from Mario Götze and a second half penalty from Thomas Müller.
